OUR STORY
Tenderly Transforming Trauma
Founded by Lori E. Opal, Prajna Psychotherapy Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides psychotherapeutic services to the Bay Area. Our board of directors consists of compassionate psychotherapists who have banded together as a team with a mission. We aim to provide quality, compassionate and trauma-informed psychotherapy at a reasonable rate. We’ve accomplished this by creating a program that trains, educates and supervises talented and heart-led Associate Therapists as they walk alongside individuals, couples, teens, children and families. We want to help de-stigmatize trauma, normalize it and educate our community about the importance of dealing with trauma.
Prajna means “heart wisdom” and our therapists connect from their hearts. We believe compassion to be one of the most essential components of healing. In doing this, we create an atmosphere where it is safe to be oneself and share your authentic experience.
We also serve survivors of sexual violence by partnering with CalVCB (Victim's Compensation Board) and offering lower fee, affordable services for those that have been affected by this type of trauma. We help empower survivors, offering them choices in their healing process, helping to inform family and loved ones to move away from blame and shame. Together, we help survivors tenderly transform their trauma story.
